SUMMARY:Intro to Yin Yoga - The Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that stretches and targets the deep connective tissues throughout the body. The aim is to mindfully increase circulation in the joints and improve their range of motion as well as overall flexibility. It is a great practice for beginners\, for students working with arthritis\, as well as being a complementary style of yoga for athletes. Many Yin Yoga poses focus on stretching the hips\, lower back and legs\, areas where we tend to hold tension. Additionally\, Yin Yoga has a meditative aspect\, encourages us to go inward\, and become calm and centered.\nLearn about Yin Yoga’s Taoist roots\, as well as contemporary teachers\, that have shaped our Yin Yoga practice today. Find out about the concept of Yin & Yang\, the life force called qi (pronounced chee) and the pathways qi travels through\, the meridian system. Learn about the three tattvas (principles) of Yin Yoga and how to apply them to your practice. Experience many basic Yin Yoga poses\, learn their names (which differ from Hatha Yoga) and discover modifications in case you are working with sensitive knees\, lower back\, or any injuries.\nWhen: Sunday\, March 29th\nTime: 2:00 – 4:00 pm\nCost: 25$ in advance; $30 after 3/22\n*Yoga teachers will receive 2 CEU’s

SUMMARY:Intro to Gentle Weightless Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Have you been wondering about the yoga trapeze\, but worry it isn’t for you? The great news is the trapeze is actually for every yogi! If you’re a yogi that enjoys yin\, gentle\, or restorative yoga than this workshop is for you. We will be exploring postures often found in these healing classes with the addition of the trapeze. In this workshop we will open the hips\, heart and shoulders\, using the trapeze to find openings in a new and creative way. Allow the trapeze to support you while you relax into a floating pigeon\, find new depth in your heart space in a supported cobra\, and explore your breath in a weightless butterfly. Finally\, find a soothing savasana while you sway your way to that perfect place of peace and relaxation.\n*There will be no inverting while hanging from the trapeze in this particular workshop. So don’t let any fears of being upside down stop you from joining us for this practice. This workshop is suitable for every yogi!!\n \nWhen: Saturday\, March 14th\nTime: 2:00 – 3:30 pm\nCost: $30\nOR Save $5.00 on registration before 3/7!
